An Experiential education based semester out of Leadville, Colorado. I took six full credit classes in addition to three 2-week long wilderness expeditions where we learned beyond the classroom in necessary backcountry skills, leadership development, and class curriculum.
Experience
Student-Faculty Collaborative Research Position, Colorado College, Summer 2010
• I worked for over ten weeks on a project doing research in the field of thermal home energy audits and retrofits. The work focused on residential usage in homes of low income tenants and owners. This project is being developed into a senior thesis.
Synergy House, Colorado College
• The synergy house is a themed sustainable living house on the Colorado College campus. The main goal of the house is to foster a community living as sustainably as possible. In addition, the house members reach out to the campus community to have potlucks, host “green” events, and be advocates for the environment via different initiatives on campus.
Ritt Kellogg Memorial Climbing Gym May 2008 - current
• Monitor safety, manage memberships, and help foster a sense of community and enjoyment around climbing.
Trip Staff at Camp Nebagamon, Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin.
• Longest trip lead was a 14 day backpacking trip for high school freshman on Isle Royale in Lake Superior. I was leading trips for over 40 days over the course of the summer.
Adirondack Camp, Putnam Station, NY June – August 2007, August 2008
• I was the youngest trip staff employee, leading one to four-day trip backpacking, canoeing, and hiking trips in the Adirondacks for campers ranging in age from 6-16.

Environmentally Conscious, Outdoor Enthusiasts, Greens Farms Academy Spring 2006- Spring 2007
• This is the environmental club I began at Greens Farms Academy my Junior Spring. Upon returning from the High Mountain Institute I realized the immense amount of opportunity to improve the community into a more sustainable one. By my senior year the club had become the second largest club on campus and this year was the largest. We completed many initiatives including starting a school-wide composting project, retrofitting light bulbs, and general advocacy.
Varsity Ice Hockey, Greens Farms Academy 2003-2007
• My peers named me captain of our varsity Ice Hockey team for both my junior and senior years while at Greens Farms Academy.
Trail Maintenance
• Have worked over 10 days since 2005 with both Colorado Fourteeners Initiative (CFI) and the Forest Service doing trail maintenance.
